JAX PIII - Pitch Shifter

Frequency Domain Pitch Shifter


Our frequency domain pitch shifter uses FFT and inverse FFT to synthesize a pitch shifted result. The sound becomes slightly smoothed with such approach and all FFT processors will introduce a fixed latency in the realtime audio processing chain.

FFT based effects are band limited, because all above the Nyquist frequency is filtered out naturally prior the inverse processing step. The phases of such pitch shifted signal may cause some smearing at the result, so this pitch shifter is thought for audio material that has not much transient sound.
